What is the law for renters in CA regarding air conditioning???
We live in a fairly large home and only have an evaporative cooler(which is a brand new unit, less than 3 months old). This does not cool down the house at all and it is always 95+ degrees in our house. We have bought two small window air conditioners, but then we are confined to that small area (there are 5 of us with a 7month old). Does the landlord have to provide air that actully works to cool down the house? Or is what is provided okay?? We are all miserable, especially the baby!!!!
it is stated in the lease that air is provided, however, as stated, it doesn’t work with a darn!!!
I’m sorry to say that the landlord is only required to provide you with air conditioning if it is specifically stated in the lease.
