The Maytag Refrigerator Water Filter
A good backpacking water filter will help ensure that you have a safe wilderness excursion and protect you from parasites, bacteria and possibly even viruses. There are two different options for treating your water… a water filter, or iodine. It is also a good thing to look for a water filter that contains a pre-filter. The advantage of these is that they take up practically no room in your backpack and they are extremely light weight.
Giving your family clean water to drink is one of the healthiest things you can do for their well being. If you have been buying bottled water to make sure your water is clean, now is the time to switch to filtering your own water. You will have clean, healthy water that is the safest water to drink, without all the expense and trouble of bottled water if you install a Whirlpool water filter. I decided that the maytag refrigerator water filter were the right choice, for several reasons. First, the maximum safe level that the EPA sets for an adult is 4.0 mg/L, but for children, they stick with 3 mg/L. A refrigerator filter is a real necessity if you have a refrigerator with a water and ice dispenser that you get most of your drinking water from.
Did you know some filters are actually hurting your health? The reason for this is that they remove beneficial minerals and by now it’s been shown that the lack of minerals contained in water is closely related to many serious diseases. I think it’s also important to understand that some filters simply aren’t strong enough to be used for filtering drinking water. Don’t be fooled by claims that defend filters based on reverse osmosis.
How about the water in your shower, laundry, or toilet? It’s the same old hardened water, right? A whole house water filter is nothing but a water filter which is connected to the main water line which enters your house. Actually, it does make a whole lot of difference that you do use purified water for bathing as the skin is your body’s largest organ. Let’s face it. Bathing in hard water does not exactly feel good, does it?
