Is a 3.2 ton Air Conditioner good for a 1,900ft house?
I live in florida and the weather is getting hot already. As this happens, whenever I go to friends’ and relatives’ houses, school, or commercial places, it seems the Air Conditioner just can’t cool off properly. In my house the a?c was installed in 2005 and it is a Ruud unit. It works almost like new, and blows very powerfully and really cold air (better than the 3.5 ton carrier installed in 1992 in my old house which was the exact same size) I googled for curiosity and found out my A/C is under capacity for the size but that seems impossible because it can make the house 68 degrees even if it is 95 outside. My house is insulated and has no windows East or West, only North and South, which helps, but still what do you think. We don’t abuse the A/C unit though, if it’s too hot outside we don’t put it below 74 and all our windows and doors remain shut all the time. Is this unit the right capacity and is it going to cool off this way the remaining summers?
It seems your AC is doing very good, when it can cool down to 68 when outside is 95.
I do not know how hot your area can get in the mid summer. If it goes over 100 F most of the summer, than I would suggest a 3.5 ton or 4 ton unit.
