Renewable Heating Oil Being Used In Norfolk Town
Currently there is an exciting trial taking place in Reepham. Reepham is a small town in the heart of Norfolk. The efficiency of renewable heating oil is being tested out here by thirty one buildings which includes the local school. The point of this project is not so much to look at the cost-effectiveness of such a move but more to examine the feasibility of using this type of heating. At the moment this type of renewable fuel works out more expensive than the standard oil, but this could all change in the future.
Renewable heating oil is a form of biodiesel made up from animal fat, vegetable oil and mixed with regular kerosene. Storage of this fuel is the same as regular heating oil i.e. in an oil tank and it can be used exactly the same way. Although one of the issues that many people have with this type of fuel is the smell it produces, there are plans to remedy this problem. The fact is that it is renewable and this is what is making everyone so excited. This is because something must be done to solve this problem which is having a negative affect on countless humans around the world and the government is under a lot of pressure to tackle this problem.
Many of us are actually becoming more aware of damage to the environment and want to do something to reduce our carbon footprint so this trial in Norfolk is a great way of showing other communities how to do something to help the environment. If this trial proves successful it will offer another great way for people to reduce the amount of damage caused to the environment by carbon dioxide emissions. There is sure to be many more people who will be willing to try out this fuel if predictions that the price of it is to drop in the future prove to be correct. Our descendants could really benefit from this little trial in Reepham especially if it spreads around the globe.
Some people spend a lot of money heating their homes in the winter. Electricity and gas prices are very high and show no signs of coming down any time soon. Clever people are switching to heating oil as a fuel though. When they do they always need their tanks filled with heating oil ensuring they can always heat their home in winter.
