Chlorine-free Swimming Pools
Traditional swimming pools have always been treated with chlorine-based pool chemicals, and if you own a swimming pool then you are most likely also applying chlorine-based swimming pool chemicals since these are the most popular kind. Chlorine, which used to be the only chemical used to cleanse and keep the pool safe for swimming has been observed to have negative side effects on the swimmers themselves and the even on the maintenance personnel.
Chlorine can cause breathing difficulties or even asthma attacks when they combine with other organic wastes (like sweat and urine). This combination converts to toxic by-products like chloramines, aldehydes and chloroform thus causing the pool to become a health risk for anybody who comes in contact with the water. Alternatives to chlorine-based pool chemicals that are now obtainable so you can keep your swimming pool clean include:

- ion systems that normally comprise silver and copper or zinc and copper ions. This system lets the water pass through an ion chamber where the organic waste is removed and the pool water is sanitized;
