How To Keep Your Fresh Flowers Blooming Beautifully

It’s all about speed. Flowers don’t like spending time on the road, so once you’ve been to the florist – it’s straight home!. Heat and flowers aren’t a good mix, so when the temperature is climbing, you need to get them home FAST!. For the journey home, try and place the flowers out of the sun and turn the car’s airconditioning system to to the coldest setting.
As soon as you can, place the flowers into a deep bucket of cool water. A top tip is to spray a fine mist of water onto the petals and leaves to freshen them up.

If there are any leaves below the waterline, strip these off to prevent the water from being contaminated by rotting material.

Appliances that give off heat (such as TVs, heaters, microwaves, fridges) are also unfriendly towards flowers. And strange as it sounds, flowers and fruits aren’t always a marriage made in heaven. Some fruits give off ethylene gas as they ripen which can have a detrimental effect on the flowers.
