Are you a fan of Blue Scholars?
I haven’t really been feeling much of Sabzi’s work since “Bayani” (another dope 2007 release), and I came across this song a few weeks ago and I think it’s definitely become one of my favorite Blue Scholars tracks

RHH2: What are your thoughts on Sabzi as a producer and what is your favorite album where he’s handled the majority of the production?
Yes, I am most likely the biggest fan of Blue Scholars on here. I’m from Washington and they are HUGE around here. Everybody knows about them over here. Anyway, I just have one pet peeve about them. Why is everybody (including yourself) always mentioning Blue Scholars instead of Common Market? I don’t understand. Sabzi’s work on both of Common Market’s full length albums is not only far better than anything he did in Blue Scholars, but is also some of the best production of the last decade. RA Scion is a better rapper than Geologic by miles. RA is one of my favorite rappers right now. And to be honest, I think what Aimjeezy said is true. With Blue Scholars, Sabzi is completely carrying them with his beats. Geologic is a mediocre to bad MC while RA is an excellent one. So basically I get annoyed when I see questions like this where people mention Blue Scholars instead of/leave out Common Market. In real life both groups get plenty of love, but on the internet, all I’ve seen is Blue Scholars for some reason, which makes no sense to me.
BTW. “I haven’t really been feeling much of Sabzi’s work since Bayani.” WHAT!? You’re telling me you weren’t feeling Tobacco Road? That’s the best album of 2008 right there.

That question from a year ago explains what my feelings about him were back then, and that is what they still are. I honestly think that he’s the best producer in the game right now (not just saying that cause he’s local). Common Market’s self titled debut and Tobacco Road were both IMO the best produced albums of the years they came out in. I took about a three year break from listening to/buying new rap music from about mid 2003 to mid 2006, and Common Market have been the best hip hop act I’ve discovered in the last few years since I’ve gotten back into rap music again. Them and Cymarshall Law have been my favorites (which BTW thank you because I think I found out about Cymarshall Law from either you or Mech).
