how do i get the specifications or dimensions of a belt in a belt-drive?
I have a motor driven roots-blower and the force is transmitted using a belt-drive. however the belt has started to wear out and needs to be replaced. how do i get the size of the belt.
its not written on the belt by the way.
Well, I assume you’re talking about a “v-belt”, this type of belt has table of specifications, you can find it in the brochure that’s provided by the manufacturing company. Howeve, in your case, you can contact the manufactring company and they will tell you the full specifications.
If that didn’t work, you can collect the specifications “of your motor” (speed :rpm, maximum torque, power transmitted, …etc.) then ask the v-belt purchasers to give you new belt that sustain these loads.
