Inspect Your Heating System This Fall
As we approach the fall season, one of the things you should have on your list of things to do is have your heater checked out before you need it for the first time this winter. The fall season is the ideal time to have this taken care of. It affords you the time to have any repairs completed before you need your system running in the cold of winter. Avoiding an inspection completely is not recommended because of the nature of heating systems. Faulty heaters are a major contributor to fires in the home throughout the country.
Heating Professionals and Air Conditioning Professionals are ususally one and the same in most areas.. This is good news for most homeowners since they will have a single trusted individual that is familiar with their systems. The bad news for this year is that new air conditioner installations are in high demand, and the backlog will most likely extend into the fall for 2010. This is due to two underlying factors: the energy tax credit, and the freon phase out.
Smart homeowners are snatching up the $1500 tax credit for qualifying heating and air conditioning systems which expires at the end of 2010. In addition, people that are looking to sell their homes in this tough housing market are finding out quickly that having an air conditioning system that uses Puron coolant is a huge feature for prospective buyers. The bottom line is that Heating and Air Conditioning professionals have their hands full this fall tearing out old systems and installing the new ones.
If you wait to long it might be too late. Schedule an appointment with your heating and air conditionening service provider as soon as you can so that you can be added to their waiting list before you get shut out.
